Blank Tab Custom Widget New Tab Chrome Extension
Last updated: January 21, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Blank Tab (the “Extension”) handles information when you use it. The Extension replaces your browser’s New Tab page with a clean, distraction-free dashboard where you can add your own widgets (for example: notes, to-dos, quick links, and a clock).

1) Data Collection

We do not collect any user data. The Extension does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information.

2) Local-Only Storage

The Extension stores your widget settings locally on your device using Chrome’s extension storage (for example: widget layout, titles, checklist items, quick links, and preferences). This data is used only to make your New Tab page work the way you configured it.

Note: Local storage means your settings remain on your browser profile unless you remove the Extension or clear extension data.

3) No Remote Code

The Extension does not load or execute remote code. All functionality is included in the packaged Extension files distributed through the Chrome Web Store. We do not use external scripts, remote modules, or eval().

4) No Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or transfer data to third parties. The Extension does not use ads, analytics trackers, or external data services.

5) Permissions

The Extension requests only the minimum permissions required to function (for example, saving settings locally). It does not request permissions to read your browsing history or access website content.

6) Changes to This Policy

If the Extension’s functionality changes in a way that affects privacy, this policy will be updated. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
